Introducing The Inoue Brothers x Porter collaboration

This short film depicts a typical day in the life of Rosa, who is a Bolivian indigenous craft’s expert. She is the project leader for all the components made in Bolivia for our forthcoming The Inoue Brothers x Porter collaboration. They include bright traditional textile called “Aguayo”, protective dust bags made from durable nylon fabric, used at local markets, and hand crocheted Mr Porter finger dolls.

We have known Rosa for nearly 20 years and immediately thought of her being the project leader for this special collaboration. Our mission together is to establish a longterm strategy for producing traditional Bolivian products that emotionally expresses Andean identity, spirituality, and creativity.

The result is a capsule collection of classic Porter styles, which carries the spirit of the Andes through craft and design.

The large backpack has two impressive square pockets at the front and another on the top flap. There is a large zip on the side for easy access to the main compartment of the pack, which is covered by the top flap for added security.

By adding core material to the back, the pack has more stability it fits better to the body.

This two-layer Waist Bag has excellent storage capacity. The main and front layer compartment can hold all your daily essentials and the pockets on the front layer can store smaller belongings separately. The pockets on the harness part can store small items such as wireless earphones. It can be used not only as a waist bag but also as a crossbody bag.

The balloon sack is the perfect size for everyday use as it can hold your wallet, smartphone and other essentials. The main body can be opened and closed by adjusting the drawstring at the opening and the silhouette can be changed by fastening the cord stopper in different positions.

There are two pockets on the front and back where you can store your smaller belongings separately. It comes with a removable handle and shoulder strap making it a 2-way bag that can be carried by hand or over the shoulder.

Every bag in the collection feature traditionally woven “Aguayo” fabric both on the exterior and interior in eye-catching design with the brightly colored green and purple interior fabric evokes the vibrancy of the "Aguayo" colours.

In addition all models come with an adorable hand crocheted finger puppets inspired by PORTER. In Bolivia finger puppets have long been popular with women making them for their children and grandchildren.

Also included is a market inspired dust bag, which are durable and lightweight and are widely used in South American markets as bags to carry essentials. They are perfect not only for storing bags but also for everyday use.
